We have been designing clothes for 12 years and we love it!
All our designs, patterns and samples are made in Barcelona by local professionals, people with whom we have been collaborating for a long time. We personally design our own prints and strive to be creative and different with each collection.
One of our main objectives is to maintain long-lasting stable professional relationships, nurturing our links with this team of professionals and thus growing together. The manufacture of all our entire production is then made in India by Assisi Garments, a factory that is specialised in the production of 100 % organic cotton and Fair Trade items. We maintain a rigorous check of all our production by travelling to the factory and making sure all our specific requests are being followed.
All garments in this year’s Spring-Summer 2016 collection have been made with 100% organic cotton and certified by GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard). The prints on our fabrics and textiles are also made by following rigorous standards in the chemical composition of dyes and the rigorous control of any discharge of toxic waste into the environment.
Our aim is to participate in a sustainable and responsible fashion industry, which may contribute to save our beloved planet. We believe in respect for the work of others, in dignified fair working conditions and that people should work to live and not live to work. We want to know who is producing our clothes and, most importantly how are they being made. We have chosen to work with Assisi Garments because we have full confidence that they are complying to our same code of ethics.
We want to create stylish, well designed clothes, desirable garments versatile and on trend, but we also want our products to comply with our philosophy and ethical code. Therefore, we stand for ethical consumerism, for quality clothing that is respectful and fair to people and to the environment.
We hope you will enjoy our new collection. ;)
For a long time we had been aware that the cotton industry, with cotton fields all around the world is one of the most polluting sectors in the fashion industry and we felt we had to help to change this.
Organic cotton is grown in certified fields free from toxic substances, pesticides or insecticides, whereas conventional cotton growing fields is one of the most polluting in the world, using as much as 25% of all insecticides and 10 % of all pesticides consumed globally.
On the other hand, the conventional processing of cotton requires as many as 800 different toxic chemical substances that are harmful both to the environment and to farmers, while the processing of organic cotton requires the use of only 200.
As you can see from our website, in past collections we have used various types of textiles in our creative process. However, it has gradually become clear to us that natural fibres are the most comfortable and after many trials and errors we have become more aware and conscious and have finally decided that natural is the way to go.
Main advantages of organic clothing:
- Organic cotton is grown by methods and with materials that have a lower impact on the environment.
- You will be helping to promote more ethical and healthier work conditions for farmers.
- Your body will not be exposed to direct contact with harmful substances.
- You will be using soft, comfortable fabrics that transpire and that are hypoallergenic, due to the absence of toxic substances.
